NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 27-year-old woman was punched in the face as she waited for a J train at a Queens subway station in what police said Thursday was an unprovoked attack.
The victim was waiting on the southbound platform of the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station around 7 p.m. on May 22 when a man got off the train that arrived at the station and slugged her, police said.
According to the police, "no words were exchanged between the victim and the individual."
The man then ran down a staircase to the station's mezzanine area before fleeing in an unknown direction.
She suffered a minor injury and sought medical attention by private means, police said.
