VIDEO: Woman attacked after asking subway rider to wear mask

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A woman was attacked in a Brooklyn subway station, reportedly after she asked one of her assailants to wear a mask.

The NYPD released surveillance video Thursday of the man and woman they’re searching for, two days after the attack at the Union Street subway station in Park Slope.

The 28-year-old victim had asked one of the suspects to wear a mask at the subway station on Tuesday evening, according to WABC.

The argument escalated and the man and woman began attacking the woman, striking her on the head and body, police said.

The man then grabbed the woman’s cell phone and threw it to the ground, according to police.

His accomplice then sprayed an unknown liquid in the woman’s face, police said.

The victim suffered pain and bruising. She was taken to Cornell Hospital in stable condition.

Subway, bus and commuter rail riders are required to wear face coverings. Those who don’t face a $50 fine under a new MTA policy.
