2 men distract Brinks employee while 3rd man steals bag of $300K in front of BK Chase Bank

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Three men are wanted for stealing $300,000 from the back of a Brinks truck in Brooklyn Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. in front of a Sunset Park Chase Bank at 5423 8th Avenue, police said.

A Brinks employee was making a bank money drop when two men came up to him asking for directions, according to officials.

While the employee was distracted, another man swiped a bag of money that was left unattended on the bumper of the armored Brinks truck. He then fled the scene with the other men. The bag had $300,000 cash inside, cops said.

The man who took the bag is described as having a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black hooded jacket, gray pants and black sneakers.

The other men both have medium complexions and average builds. One was last seen wearing a black winter hat with a white trim, a black winter coat with a hood, gray pants and black sneakers. The other was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black face mask, a black jacket, black pants, black sneakers and a black backpack.
