NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Three 7-Eleven stores in Queens were robbed at gunpoint in about an hour early Wednesday morning—and police are investigating if one man was behind the rash of holdups.
The three locations were hit between about 2:55 a.m. and 4:05 a.m., all within 1.5 miles of each other, according to the NYPD.
The first robbery was at 112-11 Liberty Ave. in South Richmond Hill; the second, at 159-35 Cross Bay Blvd. in Howard Beach; and the third, at 154-18 Rockaway Blvd. in Springfield Gardens.
In each robbery, a masked man with a gun demanded money from employees, police said.
According to cops, $400 was stolen in the first robbery and $1,500 in the second. The robber fled the third empty-handed.
The NYPD is investigating if one man was responsible for all three robberies. Suspect surveillance images haven't yet been released.
