NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Two phony cops showed up at a 39-year-old man's Manhattan apartment, held him up and put him in handcuffs, police said Wednesday.
The man was leaving his apartment at West 180th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Washington Heights on March 21 around 4:30 a.m. when both men with "gold shields" stopped him.
They identified themselves as cops, brandished firearms and placed him in handcuffs, police said.
The duo then took the victim's keys and entered his apartment. No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
