Group beats 2 men with scooter in suspected anti-Hispanic robbery in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is searching for a group of suspects who robbed and beat two men with a scooter while hurling anti-Hispanic statements at them on a Brooklyn street.

According to police, two men, ages 33 and 36, were walking in front of 813 41st St. at around 11 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1 when they were approached by four men who began making anti-Hispanic remarks.

One suspect then proceeded to punch both victims and hit them in the head and body with a scooter, officials said.

While assaulting the victims, one of the suspects stole the 36-year-old man's wallet containing assorted credit/debit cards, cash and identification documents.

The four attackers fled eastbound on 41st Street, cops said.

EMS transported both victims to Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition.

This incident remains under investigation.

Police released a photo of two of the four suspects being sought.
