Man, 62, punched for $10 in bone-breaking LES mugging

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 62-year-old man was sucker punched on the Lower East Side in a mugging that left him with a broken arm, police said Tuesday.

The victim was walking at Clinton and Rivington streets on the night of July 15 when another man approached at 11:45 p.m.

His attacker punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and break his arm, police said.

The thief grabbed the victim's cigarettes, keys and $10 cash before fleeing on foot, according to cops.

EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital, where he was in stable condition with the broken arm and injuries to his face.
