NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The man who threw a woman onto subway tracks in the Bronx over the weekend, with little time to spare before a train rolled in, has been arrested, police said Tuesday.
Theodore Ellis, 30, was taken into custody for the brazen, unprovoked attack that took place in broad daylight at the elevated 2/5 Jackson Avenue station in the Melrose section around 4:40 p.m. on Sunday.
Ellis is now facing charges for assault and reckless endangerment, according to police.
The shocking video released by police on Monday showed the man, alleged to be Ellis, walking up to the 52-year-old victim, putting her in a bear hug and tossing her onto the tracks in front of shocked riders.

The woman landed on the tracks about 30 seconds before a train arrived at the station.
Quick-thinking bystanders sprang into action and pulled her back onto the platform. She was not struck by a train.
