NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- New York City will hold what could be its largest ticker tape parade ever for the Knicks after the team won their first NBA title in 53 years.
ROUTE
The parade will start at 10 a.m. near Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan and travel north along Broadway to City Hall, where a ceremony will be held to award the team with the Keys to the City. Head here for a full list of access points to the parade route. Tickets are required for the City Hall event; the city is giving away a limited number of free tickets via a lottery.

WEATHER
According to AccuWeather, the temperatures will be pleasant for the parade, rising from the mid-70s to the low 80s during the event. While the day will start partly cloudy, attendees should prepare for a potential shower in the morning and a heavy thunderstorm in the afternoon. The high will be 86. Note: Umbrellas are now permitted at the parade.

PUBLIC TRANSIT
The Wall Street (4, 5) and City Hall (R, W) subway stations will be closed starting at 4:30 a.m. Thursday. Staten Island Ferry service will run every 15 minutes between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. and between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
TRAFFIC
Parking will be prohibited south of Canal Street starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Vehicular traffic will be shut down south of Canal from the Hudson River to the East River starting at 7 a.m. Thursday. The FDR and West Side Highway will remain open, but city-bound traffic from the Brooklyn Bridge will only be able to go northbound on the FDR.

SECURITY
All attendees will be screened for the parade. Pens will open at 6 a.m. Sources tell 1010 WINS that not everyone will get in and that people should arrive as early as possible.
