Healy told the Greenville News " I am an American citizen and I'm being punished because I exercised my rights. I feel like my employer is blaming me for this and people are assuming the worst. I am being found guilty by association."

Photos and videos surfaced last month showing Healy at the rally standing next to people holding Nazi flags and symbols of white supremacist groups. Healy claims that he did not know about the organizations he was standing with and denied claims of having involvement with them.

Nearly 15 years ago, Wikileaks published that Healy was involved with the United Kingdom based fascist group, The British National Party. When asked about that the by the Greenville News, Healy said "That's irrelevant".

Furman University's investigation into Healy continues for the time being he's not teaching classes or allowed on campus.
