Top 10 Highest Paid Actors of 2019

75756A5E-120A-4932-810C-2FD980DB785E
By Johnny Lopez

It’s been a very lucrative year for action stars, Marvel superheroes, and even a fading country singer.

Forbes has released their list of the highest-paid actors of 2019, and the top ten combined earned a whopping $588.3 million.

If you smell what The Rock is cooking, then you know its money.

Dwayne Johnson tops the list as the highest-paid actors of 2019 by taking in a massive $89.4 million from June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019.

1 Dwayne Johnson

The 47-year-old, who came in second last year, has had a string of box-office hits, including this summer’s “Fast & Furious” spin-off “Hobbes & Shaw,” and is set to rake in $23.5 million for the upcoming “Jumanji “sequel.

He also gets %15 of profits from his franchise films, $700K per episode headlining HBO’s “Ballers” and royalties from his apparel lines and Under Armour headphones. The newly married wrestler-turned-actor has a lot to celebrate.

2 Chris Hemsworth

In second place is the god of Thunder himself, Thor. Chris Hemsworth took in $76.4 million for wielding his hammer in both “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”

3 Robert Downey Jr.

His fellow Marvel comrade Iron Man is right on his tail as Robert Downey Jr. takes third place with $66 million.

The 54-year-old allegedly got $20 million for his final “Avengers” outing and 8% of the profits. Other superheroes on the list include Captain Americas Chris Hemsworth in 8th place with 43.5 million and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man right behind him 9th with $41 million.

Nipping at Iron Man’s feet in the fourth spot is Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who earned one million less than Downey Jr. with $65 million.

6 Bradley Cooper

Another standout was actor/director Bradley Cooper who came in sixth place (tied with Adam Sandler) earning $57 million. While Cooper reportedly received about 10% of that amount from his voice work as Rocket Raccoon in “Avengers,” the bulk of it came from directing and starring as fictional country singer Jackson Maine alongside Lady Gaga in “A Star Is Born.”

Cooper forfeited a salary for his efforts and instead took a percentage of the profits, which allegedly earned him $40 million and rave reviews.

These top six are followed up by Adam Sandler, Chris Evans, Paul Rudd, and Will Smith. One interesting thing to note, last year’s top earner George Clooney didn’t even make it on the list this year.
