DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks and wing Josh Green have agreed to terms on a three-year $41 million contract extension that will keep the young forward in Dallas through the 2026-27 season, according to reports.
Green, 22, has become a key part of the Mavericks rotation and is coming off of a career-best year under Jason Kidd.
Last season, Green averaged 9.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
"I know I want to be here. I'm going to work as if I'm going to be here for a long time. I want to be able to win in Dallas," Green said earlier this fall on Media Day. "I'm going to be in Dallas. Whatever their decision, it is their decision. I have the same goal every single day, and that's just to be the best teammate or the best player I can be for the team."
Green played in 60 games last season, starting 21 of those games, becoming arguably the Mavs best perimeter defender over that time.
Despite the new-look roster in Dallas that includes Grant Williams, Olivier-Maxence prosper, Dante Exum, Seth Curry, and Derrick Jones Jr, Green should be a relatively consistent starter for the Mavs.
