AUDIO: Instant Reaction from 92.9 FM ESPN's Gabe Kuhn here on the "GOAT" of college football:
College football icon Nick Saban has retired as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide after 17 seasons at the University of Alabama. Saban's tenure at Bama will be defined by his six national titles with the school. Saban also had another title during his time at LSU. No other coach has more national titles in college football history.
The news on Saban was first reported by ESPN's Chris Low. One of the lead candidate to replace Saban, according to Brett McMurphy from The Athletic, is Oregon's Dan Lanning.
ESPN's Pete Thamel also listed several names that could be candidates for the job to replace Nick Saban.
