ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Cardinals President John Mozeliak certainly hasn't been the most well liked person in St. Louis in 2023.

After a disaster season where the team had a losing season for the second time in the 21st century and first since 2007, the pressure and expectations of the Cardinals front office to not see a repeat of this in 2024 is at all-time high.

One MLB Network analyst believes that Mozeliak has the ability to turn the club around avoid a repeat of the disaster of 2023.

MLB Network analyst Harold Reynolds joined 'Countdown to Opening Day' (starting at 40-minute mark) with Matt Pauley and Mike Claiborne Thursday to discuss the Cardinals and he believes the Cardinals can avoid a repeat of 2023.

"(The Cardinals) have enough talent on the roster to be able to flip it," said Reynolds. "I don't have any doubt they can turn it around. They are in a division they can win."

Reynolds also cited Mozeliak as one of his beliefs the Cardinals can turn it around in 2024, with the former Seattle Mariners second baseman believing Mozeliak's credentials as a key factor for his belief.

"I've always believed Mozeliak is one of the brightest baseball minds by being able to put people and teams together to compete," said Reynolds. He's going to be a Hall of Famer when you look at his resume, there's no doubt in my mind he's going to Cooperstown."

"He won a World Series, he had Hall of Fame manager, Hall of Fame players come through under his regime."

Reynolds also believes that while the Cardinals made some 'nice pitching moves' to rebuild their starting rotation, he doesn't believe they are done.

"I don't think they are finished," said Reynolds.
