The Steelers have the Watt brothers (T.J. and Derek) currently on their roster, and if it was up to Cam Heyward, they would have another pair.

Talking to the PM Team on Friday, the Steelers defensive captain told Poni, Mueller and Dorin Dickerson that of course he wants his brother Conner Heyward to be taken by the Steelers in this April’s draft.

Asked if he’s been letting General Manager Kevin Colbert and Head Coach Mike Tomlin know about his brother’s skills at running and full back/tight end, Cam said he’s been doing it for a while.

“Well, what do you think I’ve been doing the past four years, I’ve just been doing that his entire career,” said Heyward.

The younger Heyward had 35 catches for 326 yards with two touchdowns for the Michigan State Spartans in 2021.

Heyward says his brother had the best game of the season on the big stage of the Peach Bowl against Pitt this past December.

“You know playing against Pitt, his dad’s (Craig “Ironhead” Heyward) team, in our home state of Georgia, you couldn’t ask for a better game to ball out and I thought he had his best game,” said Heyward.

Heyward had five catches for 37 yards and one touchdown against Pitt as well as one rushing attempt for seven yards in Michigan State’s 31-21 victory against the Panthers.

While Cam may want to have his brother in black and gold, it will be up to Tomlin and Colbert as well as where he falls on the draft and if he’s still available.
