The Steelers have officially announced they have re-signed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster to a one-year contract.
We are also learning more about the details of his contract.
$7 million of his $8 million salary comes in the form of a signing bonus.
His base salary is $1 million and voidable over the next four years.
That lowers his cap hit to $1.6 million this year.
It was previously believed that cornerback Steven Nelson was granted a request to seek a trade because his $8 million or so cap hit would allow Smith-Schuster to sign. But that's clearly now not the case.
Dealing Nelson for a draft pick or two would give the Steelers some more money to work with.
While they Steelers have a little cap room, it isn't much with this year's cap at only at $182.5 million.
