First it was Brandon Aiyuk, then Davante Adams, now there is a new wide receiver name reportedly on the Steelers trade radar.
According to Senior NFL Insider Dianna Russini of The Athletic, The Los Angeles Rams have “called multiple teams about trading former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp.”
Russini adds the Rams have “indicated a willingness to take on some of the ’24 salary.”
Also, the Rams are looking to get a second-round draft pick for Kupp.
"[The Rams] 100 percent have called the Steelers," said Andrew Fillipponi on the PM Team.
One of the worst kept secrets in the NFL this season has been the Steelers desire to get a sold #2 wide receiver behind George Pickens.
While Calvin Austin III and Van Jefferson have been able to make a few plays, the offense clearly needs a solid second option at wide receiver.
Kupp is making $15 million this season and delivers a cap hit of $29.78 million.
The Rams have a potential opt-out after this season and have control of Kupp for the next seasons season.
He’ll make $12.5 million next season ($29.78 million cap hit) and over $14.8 million in 2026 ($27.33 million cap hit).
Kupp, who has been out since the second week of the season after an ankle injury is set to return to the Rams lineup this week.
He had 18 catches for 147 yards and one touchdown before his injury.
Due to injury, Kupp has only played in about half the eligible games over the past three years due to injury and is 32-years-old.
