The commercials that coincided with Super Bowl LIII were almost an exact replica of the game in terms of entertainment factor. There were some highlights and some lowlights, and overall, it was a meh performace this year. If you missed any of the commercials from Sunday, here is a recap of which ones were hits and which ones were misses.
First off, here are the rules of how I graded the commercials.
1. They had to have aired during the game itself and not pregame or postgame.
2. Heartfelt commercials will not be ranked. This includes the Xbox controller, and the Verizon First Responders commercials.
3. No show promos.
Ok here we go...
The Best:
1. Hyundai's The Elevator
Whether it be Jason Bateman starring in this commercial or the fact it hits on every unpleasant event one might occur in life, this was by far the lone commercial that made me actually LOL. As they hit every floor of awkwardly, I cringed alongside my 17 year old brother and laughed exceptionally harder with the reveal of each floor. It was by far the funniest commercial of the bunch and the most entertaining. Check it out:

February 2, 2019 2. The 100 Year Game
The NFL hit this one out of the park! The integration of current stars and legends of the past in a fun commercial, where football breaks out at a banquet setting after Marshawn Lynch knocks a football on the ground trying to get an early taste of some cake. It just kept getting better, and you did not know what was coming next! Here it is:

February 4, 2019 3. Stella Artois Change Up the Usual
I am not a Stella Artois fan. However, I am a sucker for Jeff Bridges bringing back "The Dude" from
The Big Lebowski. Hey, if it makes "The Dude" not have a White Russian, I might have to try a Stella too!
Stop us if you’ve heard this one: Carrie Bradshaw & The Dude walk into a bar. But when they change up their usual for Stella Artois to help give access to clean water to someone in need, that’s no joke. Join them. January 28, 2019 Here is where it starts getting a little mediocre...
4. Mint Mobile Chunky Milk
It was disgustingly hilarious, especially when the daughter started chewing milk after drinking it from a glass. I almost threw up. Let's see if you do:
Chunky Style Milk? That’s Not Right! Kind of like how you get wireless. Get early access and Buy 1 Month and Get 2 Free for $20/month. Use code CHUNKYTWEET at checkout. #mintmobile #thatsnotright #chunkystylemilk pic.twitter.com/AXJp5t5yhE

January 31, 2019 5. Pringles Sad Device
The robots and devices trying to display emotion was a theme of Sunday's commercials. Many advertisers touched on all the new technology in our lives taking over the world, and Pringles made fun of this concept. This "Alexa" device seemed very upset she could not try Pringles:
With endless combinations, there’s a flavor stack for everyone. Or is there? pic.twitter.com/kG8RalQE41

January 29, 2019 Honorable mention: Amazon Alexa
Speaking of Alexa type devices, this one was pretty good about the different ways Amazon tried to make one of their "Alexas." Also love the jab at their Alexas recording conversations and sending them to other people:
Harrison Ford might not be talking to his dog anymore, but this year's Super Bowl commercial for @amazon has us wondering what technology we'll be talking to Alexa in next. pic.twitter.com/yUm3HJNmH9

January 30, 2019 The Worst:
1. Bud Light (all of them)
All the Bud Light commercials were terrible. A company that used to put out the best commercials every year had only duds on Sunday. The whole dilly dilly thing is way over played and was never really funny unless you were in high school and an avid Bud Light drinker. Here is a Bud Light commercial (I won't burden you with all of them):
To be clear, Bud Light is not brewed with corn syrup, and Miller Lite and Coors Light are. pic.twitter.com/x6tWqdSRXN

February 3, 2019 2. Avocados From Mexico
Just watch...do I need to say more?
Our commercial with @KChenoweth is here & it’s a show-stopper! See how dogs are taking advantage of the fact that humans do anything for always-worth-it, delicious, healthy & always-in-season #AvocadosFromMexico. #SB53

January 30, 2019 3. Turbo Tax Robot Child
Again, the robots thing was weird. This robo child needs to star in the next horror movie because it was just flat out creepy and uncomfortable. No more stupid robot ads please!
My dream is to become a TurboTax Live CPA, but Papa failed to program the right set of human emotions into my system, so I will never be one. #Bummer ~ #RoboChild #SBLIII pic.twitter.com/z41kbiaDKr

February 4, 2019 4. Michelob ULTRA Pure Gold
Another company that used to hit Super Bowl commercials out of the park failed to deliver this year. It started off promising with Chance the Rapper, then all of a sudden the unwanted Backstreet Boys were back and it was not alright. I am sure there were many girls ages 23-35 that were losing their mind when they saw the Backstreet Boys but it was an utter disappointment. We expect better Doritos...
