NFL Power Rankings: Who are training camp Super Bowl favorites?

List of the current NFL power rankings for each NFL Team in 2021
75756A5E-120A-4932-810C-2FD980DB785E
By Tim Kelly, Audacy Sports

Aaron Rodgers showed up for what will presumably be his final season in Green Bay, but if he ever had a filter, the three-time NFL MVP has seemingly ditched it.

In his first extended media appearance since the Packers lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game in January, Rodgers was very open about having considered retirement or the possibility of being traded given the state of his relationship with the organization. An unwillingness to commit to him past 2021 from the outset of the offseason and value his input on some personnel matters seems to be at the forefront of Rodgers' discontent with the Packers.

Still, he's back, as is Randall Cobb, a decision seemingly made to appease him. The Packers have appeared in the NFC Championship Game in consecutive seasons, and even if this is the Rodgers farewell tour in Green Bay, one would think they'll be a player to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LVI.

And if you thought Rodgers winning the MVP after the Packers traded up to draft his successor in Jordan Love was on brand, imagine if he leads the franchise to a second Super Bowl title and then asks out. Such a scenario would be great content, that's for sure.

With all 32 teams now at training camp, here's a look at latest power rankings as we inch towards the 102nd season of the NFL:

Joe Burrow

Bengals Hoping To Keep Joe Burrow Upright, Take Step Forward in Year 2

32. Houston Texans
31. Detroit Lions
30. New York Jets
29. Philadelphia Eagles
28. Jacksonville Jaguars
27. Cincinnati Bengals
26. Atlanta Falcons

After a torn ACL limited him to 10 games in his rookie season, many thought that the Bengals had no choice but to use the No. 5 pick on a left tackle to protect Joe Burrow. They didn't do that, instead selecting Burrow's former college teammate Ja'Marr Chase -- a decision one would think he was on board with -- to potentially form a dynamic 1-2 punch at wide receiver with Tee Higgins. That's puts a lot of pressure then on offseason addition Riley Reiff, slated to take over at right tackle, to help improve a unit that allowed Burrow to be sacked 32 times in 2020. If the line does indeed improve, Burrow has a pretty exiting nucleus of skill-position talent around him, especially if Joe Mixon is able to stay healthy in 2021.

Daniel Jones

This Is As Good as It Will Get for Daniel Jones

25. Chicago Bears
24. Carolina Panthers
23. Las Vegas Raiders
22. Minnesota Vikings
21. New York Giants

The New York Jets moved on from Sam Darnold after three seasons this past offseason, and Daniel Jones could face a similar fate if he doesn't take a major step forward in his third campaign with the Giants. Saquon Barkley should be back. The Giants added Kenny Golladay in free agency, and will pair him with one of the NFL's best deep threats in Darius Slayton. Dave Gettleman and company also used their first-round pick on Florida's Kadarius Toney, another wideout who could seemingly take the top off of defenses. As an unnamed executive told Mike Sando of The Athletic, if Jones isn't able to thrive with this amount of talent at his disposal, it may never happen for the former No. 6 overall pick.

Ryan Fitzpatrick

With Ryan Fitzpatrick in the Fold, Washington Football Team Will Vie for Second Straight NFC East Crown

20. Denver Broncos
19. Dallas Cowboys
18. Pittsburgh Steelers
17. Washington Football Team
16. Los Angeles Chargers

In Ron Rivera's first season as the head coach in Washington, he guided the Football Team to an NFC East crown, albeit with a 7-9 record and help from a tanking Philadelphia Eagles team in Week 17. Nonetheless, it was impressive considering that Washington had no stability at the quarterback position. Ryan Fitzpatrick is far from perfect, but he should represent a massive upgrade over what Washington got for a majority of the season last year. He'll have what is quietly a pretty strong group of skill-position talent around him, led by wide receiver Terry McLaurin. Might Fitzpatrick turning the ball over cost Washington a game or two? It's possible, but we're betting on him to be an upgrade at quarterback, allowing Washington to ride their ferocious defense to a second consecutive NFC East title.

It’s Already Put Up or Shut Up Time for Tua Tagovailoa

15. New England Patriots
14. Miami Dolphins
13. Arizona Cardinals
12. Indianapolis Colts
11. Tennessee Titans

Following what was a pretty underwhelming rookie campaign, former Alabama star Tua Tagovailoa might already be facing a make-or-break year in his second season with the Miami Dolphins. The former first-round pick was pretty clearly outplayed by Ryan Fitzpatrick last year, and probably also by quarterbacks taken after him in the draft, like Jalen Hurts. It's the worst-kept secret in the world that the Dolphins sniffed around on Deshaun Watson this past offseason. Given Watson's legal troubles, we have no idea what his NFL future is and it feels inappropriate to even speculate until said matters are resolved. But even if Watson is out of the picture, Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson could be available next offseason. The Dolphins added Jaylen Waddle with their first-round pick, and he'll join DeVante Parker and Will Fuller in what could be the best trio of wide receivers in the league. If Tagovailoa can't lead the Dolphins to the postseason in 2021, a slew of veteran quarterbacks will likely be intrigued about their chances of doing so in 2022.

Taysom Hill, Jameis Winston

Whether It’s Taysom or Jameis, Don’t Expect a Fall Off in New Orleans

10. San Francisco 49ers
9. Seattle Seahawks
8. New Orleans Saints
7. Baltimore Ravens
6. Cleveland Browns

This is higher than most will have the Saints entering their first season post-Drew Brees, especially given that they'll be without Michael Thomas to begin the season. That said, the Saints were without Thomas for much of the season last year and still managed to go 12-4 with a greatly-diminished Brees. Taysom Hill went 3-1 in games he started, and while we'd be inclined to give Jameis Winston the first chance to start at quarterback, we're pretty sure Sean Payton will have success with either option under center. In fact, don't be shocked if the Saints get better quarterback play in 2021 than they did in 2020.

Matthew Stafford

It’s Matthew Stafford’s Time To Shine

5. Los Angeles Rams
4. Green Bay Packers
3. Buffalo Bills
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1. Kansas City Chiefs

Yes, for the second consecutive year, Stafford appeared in the top 10 of our quarterback countdown, this year beating out the likes of Tom Brady, Lamar Jackson and Dak Prescott. We are supremely confident in Stafford's talents, especially now that the former No. 1 overall pick is out of Detroit and paired with one of the NFL's best offensive minds in Sean McVay. Winning a Super Bowl in your first season with a new team might be a bit much to ask -- although Brady did it last year -- but for the sake of Stafford's legacy, he needs to have significantly more team success in with the Rams than he did with the Lions, and that begins in 2021.
