The Padres got into the win column for the first time in 2026 with a 3-0 win over the Tigers on Saturday night. Randy Vasquez was brilliant, striking out 8 batters of 6 shutout frames. Fernando Tatis Jr. was a menace, driving in the game's first run with an opposite field single in the 3rd inning. He then stole second base and drew a wild throw, allowing Jake Cronenworth to score from 3rd base to give the Padres a 2-0 lead. The Padres would go up 3-0 on Jackson Merrill's RBI-fielder's choice in the 5th inning, and the bullpen held the lead for Mason Miller to make his first appearance of the season. He entered in the 9th inning to his brand new entrance song, which had been a mystery until Saturday night. He chose Blind by Korn. The Padres will have the day off on Sunday before facing the Giants on Monday.
