The National League's saves leader is set to test free agency, as Jon Heyman reports that Padres closer Robert Suarez has opted out of the final two years and $16 million dollars remaining on his contract to become a free agent. Suarez joined the Padres in 2022 and was tremendous in various roles in the bullpen, as his 4-season average ERA was 2.91 with a WHIP of 0.98. The Padres are unlikely to resign Suarez after acquiring Mason Miller at last season's trade deadline.
