Arrests Made in Missing Teen Case

A teenager is charged with the murder of a Greenville County high school junior whose body was discovered early Thursday in Laurens County. 

Harry Cabaniss, the coach of the Mauldin High School football team, took to twitter with the following statement about the loss:


“Thank you to everyone today who has reached out in support for our players, school and community. Today and the coming days will not be easy. Please continue to pray for the family of Josh Meeks. He was loved by all who knew him and will always be loved.”

Croft is charged with murder, armed robbery, grand larceny and possession of a weapon in a violent crime. 

Bond was denied and Croft is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center.

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s office arrested a 2nd suspect; a 16 year-old male, in connection with the shooting death of Joshua Meeks.

Police have charged the juvenile with Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Armed Robbery and Grand Larceny. He was arrested Thursday night without incident and transported to the Greenville County Detention Center.

The investigation is still ongoing and deputies ask for anyone with any additional information to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
