Greenville County Schools Director of Communications Beth Brotherton released the following statement Monday regarding a child that was stuck by a vehicle while walking to school.

"A fourth grade student at Monaview Elementary School was hit by a car while walking to school this morning. The accident happened at 7:43am at a 4-way stop near the school. We are thankful that first responders arrived quickly to provide medical treatment. The student told firefighters he was excited to come back to school after the holiday break. The student is bruised, but otherwise not seriously injured."


No other details have been released.  There is no word yet on whether the driver will face any charges.
