The fire broke out around 7:00 a.m. at Clemson's Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center -- still known to many as the old "Y" barn -- across the lake from the stadium
Seneca firefighters helped the University's department tamp out the blaze which destroyed the hundred year old structure along with a large stock of sports and fitness gear.
Highway 93 was blocked between Perimeter Road and Highway 123 while emergency personnel battled the fire.
