The Spartanburg County Sheriff''s Office issued the following press release Tuesday afternoon:

Last night (Monday) at approx. 10:00 PM, deputies responded to 1011 Thomas Rd., Spartanburg, SC, 29302, in reference to a drive-by shooting.

Upon their arrival, deputies found a male victim inside the residence that had been struck by one of the rounds fired from outside, and there were 2 other females inside the residence that were uninjured. EMS also responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

The 2 females were transported to the office for interviews, where it was learned that this incident may have occurred as a result of a disputed drug transaction.

The females provided a nickname of a possible suspect, and violent crime investigators were able to discover suspect’s real name. He was located and interviewed by investigators earlier today, but he wouldn’t admit to any involvement in the incident.

Further investigation revealed his involvement, and an investigator approached a magistrate who approved warrants on the suspect for Murder, 2 counts of Attempted Murder, and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

The suspect is Bobby Hank Wright, W/M, DOB: 111289, 4853 Cannons Campground Rd., Cowpens, SC, 29330. He has just been arrested in the Cowpens area and is being transported to the detention facility.
