McMaster Names Interim Clerk Of Court

Governor Henry McMaster has appointed a new clerk of court to Spartanburg County.

After stepping down three weeks ago to work for William Timmons in Congress as his new district director, Hope Blackely, the former clerk of courts for Spartanburg County is in her new role and Governor McMaster has named an interim to serve out the remainder of her term.


McMaster announced Thursday, Associate Probate Judge Amy West-Cox has been promoted to the position. West-Cox has been a probate judge with Spartanburg County since early last year where before she served as assistant solicitor with the 5th Circuit Solicitors Office.

Before McMaster’s announcement Probate Judge Ponda Caldwell had been in charge of the Clerk of Court’s Office.
