A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run Saturday, June 13th around 9:33pm according to Master Trooper Gary Miller with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The Pedestrian was walking east in the west bound lane of SC 414 near Glassy Road outside of Travelers Rest.
The driver, 44 year old Michael L. Wilkins of Landrum, was driving east in a 2011 Ford Focus on SC 414 when he veered left of center, hitting the pedestrian, then left the scene.
Wilkins was later located.
Master Trooper Miller reports Wilkins has been charged with Felony DUI with Death and Leaving the Scene with Death.
The collision is still being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The victims name has not yet been released.
