Greenville County Schools announced new grading procedures today.
The grading procedures have been adjusted to account for the switch to eLearning during the closure of schools due to COVID-19.
Tim Waller, Director of Media Relations for Greenville County Schools, said in a press release that principals and focus groups of teachers from each school weighed in to create a fair and equitable grading system in a non-traditional learning environment.
According to the press release, grades will be based only on participation and engagement.
"We recognize that many of our students struggle to learn without direct in-person access to a teacher and have varying access to adult help and resources," Waller said in the press release.
