Students returning to school in Greenville County this fall, potentially face a different schedule.  Classroom set-ups will also change due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Greenville County school board members held a workshop Tuesday to discuss six possible schedules getting elementary to high school aged students back to class.

The plan, called "Wishbone Flex Option Attendance Plan for Social Distancing" would divide students up into 4 groups based on their last name to determine which day of the week they would attend in-person classes.

Option 0 (zero) entails no attendance at all and students would continue with online learning.

Option 1 is one day of 1/4 of students in the classroom, Monday through Thursday, while 3/4 eLearning.  Friday an eLearning day for all.

Option 2 is two days in the classroom Monday through Thursday, 1/2 students present the other half eLearning.  Friday an eLearning day for all.

Option 4, all students attend class for in-person instruction with Friday being an eLearning day.

Option 5a all students attend class Monday through Friday and resume a "normal" school day.

Option 5b is similar to option 5a, but the school day is shortened to provide an eLearning platform.

Social distancing rules would apply for options 1 and 2, while option 4 and 5 social distancing rules would be relaxed.  The schedules could be implemented countywide.

As of right now, these options are just in the discussion stage and Greenville County board members have not made a solid plan for the 2020 school year.
