Greenville's first hostel, Modal, is slated to open this spring.
Designer and owner Joe Hindman designed Modal to be the creative social hub of Greenville with a public open area in the front and guest only access to the private rooms, dorms, and kitchen area.
For those unfamiliar with the concept, a hostel is a low-cost option for travelers, typically with a shared lounge and kitchen area and bunk beds in a dormitory.
However, no two hostels are the same, and Modal is one of a kind.
In the video below, Hindman gave a preview of their progress as of August 2019.
The building has come a long way since then.
Hindman estimates Modal will be opened in the spring of 2020.
