A recent graduate of Union High School died Saturday in a single car accident.
Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the collison occured around 11:30pm Saturday night on Highway 150 near Glenn Springs Road in Spartanburg.
The driver, identified by the Cororner, 17 year old Shelly Ann-Marie Burgess and a passenger were traveling West on Hwy 150 when the 2000 Pontiac Firebird veered left, hit a tree and overturned.
Both Burgess and the passenger were ejected from the car.
Burgess passed away on scene, the passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
