Released from the Greenville County Schools.

As a precaution three Greenville County Schools were advised to go on “lockout” by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office just after 10 this morning.
Lockout was previously called “partial lockdown.”
Eastside High, Brushy Creek Elementary and Mitchell Road Elementary are operating normally inside their school buildings.
In a lockout, exterior doors remain locked and students are kept inside, but instruction continues without interruption.

Released from the Greenville County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a death investigation in the area of 4805 Old Spartanburg Road.
The initial 911 call came in just after 10:00am this morning regarding an altercation that led to the victim being shot at least one time. Once on scene, deputies discovered a body in the parking lot of La Petit Academy.
The investigation is still in its early stages, however investigators do believe this incident is isolated and not a random act of violence.
Investigators are continuing to determine what led up to the shooting and working on identifying the person(s) responsible. If anyone has information they are asked to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
Deputies have shut down Old Spartanburg Road from Kembrell road to 4807 Old Spartanburg and anticipate that area being shut down for quite some time as they continue to process the scene.
