Lt. A.T. Paramore with the Greenville Police Department issued the following media release Sunday.
On August 23, 2020 at approximately 0250 Hours, Greenville Police Department officers responded to the area of 1016 North Main Street in reference to a single motor vehicle collision with injuries involving a Black BMW sedan.
The vehicle had five occupants. Three of the five occupants of the vehicle were ejected during the collision. The other two occupants, which included the driver were trapped inside. Four of the five occupants were pronounced deceased upon the arrival of Greenville County Emergency Medical Service personnel.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling south on North Main Street. As the vehicle crested the hill at the intersection of E Hillcrest the vehicle left the roadway which led to a series of events to include the vehicle striking a tree and overturning before coming to rest.
The surviving victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital and is currently in serious but stable condition. The Greenville Police Departmental Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating this collision.
The Greenville County Coroner's Office identified the victims as 24-year-old Haskel Yves Martinez of Simpsonville, 23-year-old Timothy Isaiah Webb of Simpsonville, 21-year-old Kayla Missely Castro of Greenville and 24-year-old Carlos Andres Castro-Jimenez of Taylors. The name of the injured occupant has not been released.
