Deputies with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office went to a home on Durbin Road in Fountain Inn after learning that Takevious Danglo Anderson, a wanted man with a bench warrant for domestic violence, was staying at the property.
Upon arrival, they found an abused pitbull puppy that was nearly dead from starvation.
The puppy was outside, curled up and shivering over a layer of hay, without food or water, and wearing a collar that was so tight it was practically strangling the dog.
Deputies got the dog food and water and took the pup to a vet for treatment.
Anderson was arrested and charged with that outstanding warrant for domestic violence, as well as ill treatment to animals and failure to surrender.
Sheriff Reynolds in a statement described Anderson as “simply evil” for what amounted to long-term animal torture.
