Wife Of Dr. Bob Jones III Dies

Mrs. Jones was a widely acclaimed actress, director, teacher, writer and speaker. She appeared in several Christian films produced by Unusual Films, authored 13 books, performed featured stage roles such as Lady Macbeth and Roxane from Cyrano de Bergerac with the Classic Players, hosted a syndicated radio program and spoke at numerous conferences around the world.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Bob Jones III; daughter Roxane (Dean Robinson); sons Bob Jones IV and Stephen (Erin); grandchildren, Joshua, Emily, Edward, Katherine, Christian and Campbell; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Arden Peters (Nancy) of Chandler, Arizona; and one sister Pat Bergstrom of Olympia, Washington.


Mrs. Jones’ viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, from 3-8 p.m. in War Memorial Chapel on the Bob Jones University campus at 1700 Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville, South Carolina.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. in Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium on the BJU campus. Interment will immediately follow the service at the gravesite in front of Rodeheaver Auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to either the Bob Jones University Timothy Fund Scholarship, 1700 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, SC 29614, or Gospel Fellowship Association’s Cameroon Church Building Project, 1809 Wade Hampton Blvd., Suite 110, Greenville, SC 29609.
