
An arrest has been made in the North Carolina cold case murder of a Native American woman nearly 10 years after her death. In December of 2013, the body of 26 year old Marie Walkingstick Pheasant was found inside a burning vehicle in the Big Cove Community near Cherokee.
On Tuesday, her husband Ernest Pheasant was arrested by the FBI, tribal police and the Bureau Of Indian Affairs. He's charged with 1st degree murder, witness and evidence tampering, domestic violence and a weapons violation.
