A body has been recovered from a lake in North Georgia after a search for a missing man that lasted several days. The Elbert County Sheriff's Office says a body was pulled from the water of Lake Russell, Monday morning.
Officials say that is the same area where David Payton was seen fishing last week and he has not been heard from since. A search for Payton involving search and rescue divers, K-9 units, drones and more resources, began last Thursday.
The body has not yet been identified, but is being sent to the Medical Examiner's Office to make the identification and perform an autopsy.
