Greenville residents are likely not expected to see an increase in tax rates for the coming year. Officials say, Greenville City Manager John McDonough presented a balanced budget with no tax increases during a recent workshop.
The proposed budget also focuses on city council priorities like public safety and affordable housing. It also calls for commitments that include 10 new officers for the Greenville Police Department and five new positions for the City Fire Department.
The budget plan right now is being workshopped, the City Council will give input on the proposal and changes could be made. The plan has to pass a 1st reading, public hearing and final reading by the council.
