Cold Shelters open across Upstate & WNC as winter weather expected

With a potential winter storm on the way this weekend cold shelters are being opened across the Upstate and Western North Carolina.

In Spartanburg, an Extreme Cold Weather Shelter will be open at 701 Saxon Avenue, from 7PM-10PM. Spartanburg Rescue Mission at 189 North Forest Street, Spartanburg, will be open 7AM-2PM.

Greenville County: Shepherd’s Gate which is Women and children only at 11 Regency Hill Drive in Greenville is open from 7AM-2PM.

Greenville Rescue Mission is Men only and is at 575 West Washington Street, 7AM-2PM.

Cherokee County Rescue Mission- 227 Henderson St. Gaffney 7AM-2PM

Asheville locations
Men’s Winter Safe Shelter, 91 New Leicester Highway 6PM-8PM
Women’s Winter Safe Shelter, 27 Balm Grove Avenue 6PM-8PM
Transformation Village for women and children only , 30 Olin Haven Way, 6PM- 7AM.
