Additional charges have been filed against a now former South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper and his wife after a 4 year old child died last week in Oconee County.
As we previously reported, EMS and Coroner's Office personnel responded to a home on Forest Acres Circle in Walhalla, Friday morning. 4 year old Isaiah Joseph Dionne died after going into cardiac arrest.
30 year old, Joshua Emanuel Latimer and his wife Destiny Shay Dionne were both arrested on two counts of unlawful conduct towards a child. Coroner Karl Addis has now ruled the boy's death a homicide and the couple has been charged with homicide by child abuse.
Dionne was the boy's biological mother and Latimer was his step father. Latimer has since been fired from the Highway Patrol. No further details have been released, as of the time of this report.
