Two democrats, one an elected official and the other a failed political hopeful are embroiled in a legal battle. A Greenville courtroom played host as both Greenville County Councilman Ennis Fant and community activist Bruce Wilson were in front of a judge, Wednesday
Wilson has been claiming for sometime that Fant does not live in District 25, which he represents on the county council. Wilson is asking for records to be released that would confirm Fant's residency in District 25. Those would include bank statements, utility bills and other official documents.
Wilson said in court that he believes that some documents have not been turned over. Wilson is also asking the court to take a monumental step in having Fant removed from office. Yesterday's court proceedings included arguments on multiple motions. The case is expected to move forward and it's likely that the case will be appealed to the State Supreme Court
Fant is no stranger to controversy, he referred to News/Talk 98.9 WORD as "Hate radio" when he referenced an appearance by a sitting councilman on one of the station's shows during a Greenville County Council meeting. Saying the shows on the station "Spew hate".
He did not go into further details to explain exactly how our programming "spews hate"? He just left those comments to stand alone before moving on. The conversation that brough on those comments by Fant was centered around county spending and money that was supposedly used towards LGBTQ initiatives.
