Dates for the special election have been announced after the resignation of a State Senator from the Upstate. On Monday, District 12 Senator Roger Nutt announced his resignation after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.
Statehouse member Bobby Cox is resigning to run for the seat Nutt is vacating.
The primary for the State Senate Seat will be in October. If needed, a run-ff would be in November. The special election will then be held December 23rd.
