The race for the State House in District 21 has been hotly contested and on Tuesday, voters will go to the polls to choose between Dianne Mitchell and Steve Nail in a runoff.
District 21 represents part of Greenville County and both candidates joined the Tara Show, Monday morning. Steve Nail says the appeal he has to voters is his commitment to transparency.
Nail said "The reason I have said a number of times the reason I won't sign the (Republican party's) loyalty pledge is because I think constituents need to know what is going on".
Mitchell says recently mailers have went out in support of Nail from a special interest group. Nail claims to have no prior knowledge of the group or their support for him. which Mitchell says is in a nutshell the problem with electing her opponent.
Mitchell said "It's really important to have somebody who knows the political landscape in Columbia. If you're unaware of that group and who they support, you have no business being in Columbia. That group is constantly trying to work against conservative people and conservative legislation"
