As the budget for South Carolinians is already navigating higher gas prices and food costs, there's one more possible rate hike coming that could really throw budgets for a loop.
The Public Service Commission of South Carolina is set to journey to across the state in April and May to hear from Duke Energy customers.
The Commission will host a series of public hearings on the Utility Company's request to increase electric rates, adjustments in electric rate schedules and tariffs, and a request for an accounting order.
The upcoming hearings begin on April 8th at Wade Hampton High School in Greenville at 6pm. The Commission will then host customer hearings in Greenwood, Seneca, Anderson, Spartanburg, Lancaster and Columbia.
The purpose of the in person meetings is to gather consumer input. To take part in the hearings, customers must pre-register. Links to do so have been shared on our website.
