A woman is dead after being hit by a garbage truck in Western North Carolina. The Asheville Police Department responded to the intersection of Highland Place and Sunset View around 7:45, Wednesday morning.
Police say, that the woman was a pedestrian and was hit by a City of Asheville Sanitation truck. The died from her injuries, she has been identified as 74 year old, Sally Anne Wheeler. The crash remains under investigation
