Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis held press conference Wednesday morning to provide an update in the case involving a fatal collision that occurred at the Intersection of White Horse Road and Claxton Drive on Monday. The sheriff provided body camera video from the the deputy that initially made contact with the suspect, 35-year-old Aydin Adil Oglu-Mammadov whose Mercedes sedan appearing to be dragging the muffler on the roadway.

After speaking with the suspect and asking him to turn off the engine, the suspect drove off. The deputy who was standing by the suspect vehicle at the time, watched the Mercedes leave the parking lot so he could alert dispatch as to what direction the suspect was headed on White Horse Road.

The deputy then got in his patrol vehicle, activating lights and siren and in-car camera and proceeded down White Horse Road. In less than a minute he came upon the collision that had already occurred between the suspect's Mercedes and an SUV. The suspect died in the collision. 7 year-old Aaliyah King, a passenger in the SUV was transported to a hospital where she later died. The driver of the SUV and a 5 year old passenger were also injured. Sheriff Lewis did not have an update on their medical conditions.​
