A gruesome discovery was made at the Charlotte Douglas Airport over the weekend. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says that a person was found dead inside the landing gear compartment of a plane, just after 9AM Sunday.
WBTV in Charlotte says that maintenance crews were working on the plane after it had come in from Europe and a stowaway was found.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, but their identity has not been released, as of the time of this report. The incident remains under investigation.
