Charges announced against both an inmate and detention officer for bringing contraband into the Greenville County Detention Center last year.

Detention officer Rendell Berry and inmate Shamaurie Nathaniel Olijahwan Mushande Robinson were charged last week after Robinson was accused of paying Berry $50 to sneak a vape into the Greenville County Detention Center in March of 2024.

Berry is charged with criminal conspiracy and furnishing contraband to an inmate at a county jail, and Robinson is facing charges of criminal conspiracy and possession of contraband inside a county jail.

SLED is investigating the case, which the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office is set to prosecute.
