Georgia man is looking at a court date for Christmas, after shooting a K9 Officer. Police pulled over 51 year old Ira Troy Williams , the identified suspect, last Wednesday, for having an obstructed tag.

After he handed over his driver's license, Williams took off and a pursuit ensued down 85SB in Coweta County, southwest of Atlanta. During the chase, Williams fired a gun and hit K9 Armor.

The vehicle chase turned into a foot pursuit.  Two days later, Troopers found Williams in the Grantville area, laying in a truck with a gun across his chest.  He was arrested without incident.  Williams was denied bond and his next court date is set for Christmas Day.

As for K9 Armor, he suffered ligament damage and is looking at a 2-4 month healing period.  He was released from Veterinary care on Friday.
