Low Country man in custody after shooting leaves his infant son and another person dead

A suspect is in custody after a Low Country shooting killed his infant son and another man. Police responded to a reported shooting in Orangeburg, Tuesday night.

Investigators say that an argument at a home between two men, resulted in gunfire being exchanged. The infant and his mother were both hit in the shootout.

They both were transported to the hospital, where the 6 month old child Marco Frazier Jr. was pronounced dead. Another person was found dead near the street. The deceased has been identified as Damion Rice.

The suspect, Marco Frazier Sr. was taken into custody. He's charged with two counts of murder, aggravated assault, and multiple weapons violations.

WIS TV in Columbia is reporting that the child's mother claims that Frazier Sr. was only trying to protect their family.
